PHANGO (pronounced P’ungo), is an alliance of health and patient -focused non-governmental organisations (NGOs)s.

Association incorporated under section 21, registration number 2007/013090/08.

Mission: Uniting South African patients for access to and quality healthcare

PHANGO's objective is simple but mulitifaceted.

PHANGO exists to advocate for patients on the following matters:
  • Quality of health care
  • Access to health care
  • Ethical, legal and clinical issues relevant to patients
  • People centred health care and patient empowerment
PHANGO is the patient's voice of member NGOs on important national policy issues such as the NHI, reforms in health care,
